A vacation-rental management company came to us with a setup we’re seeing more of.
They’d spent months training their own AI on their proposals, client history, and how they run campaigns. It knew their business cold. It just couldn’t see a single number from their Google Ads accounts. So they didn’t want to switch to a platform’s built-in assistant.
They wanted the assistant they’d already built, the one that knew their playbook, to work with real account data. That’s what the Optmyzr MCP does.
You don’t leave the AI you’ve built, you connect it to Optmyzr and start prompting. Your context stays in your assistant and never gets copied to us and Optmyzr becomes the layer between your AI and your live accounts.
It brings the data and the PPC know-how, and it keeps your AI from doing anything reckless.
💭Why not connect it to Google Ads MCP instead? You can, and it's a fair option if you're technical. But Google's official MCP hands your AI raw data to interpret, and needs developer credentials to set up. Check out the full comparison: Optmyzr MCP vs. Google Ads MCP here! |
What your AI can do once it’s connected
With the connection in place, your AI can reach straight into your live ad accounts.
Ask it something in plain language and it pulls the real numbers, how each campaign is performing, and answers using everything you’ve taught it about your business.
What comes back isn’t only data. Optmyzr adds its own analysis on top: it spots what’s going wrong in an account, tells you what to fix first, and can even draft a full set of changes for you to approve. That’s the work Optmyzr already does as a PPC platform. Your AI passes it along and explains it in your terms, so the work doesn’t rest on the model alone.
Your AI brings what it knows about your business, and Optmyzr brings the live data and the know-how to act on it.
How to connect your AI assistant to Optmyzr MCP
You’ll need an Optmyzr account and an AI assistant that supports connections like this.
Claude and ChatGPT are both listed in their own app directories now, so getting connected takes a minute either way. (Other assistants like Claude Code or Microsoft Copilot work too, with a couple of extra steps covered in the guide at the end.)
Claude
The Optmyzr MCP is available in the Claude Directory, so most people won’t need any manual setup:
- Open Claude.
- Go to the Claude Directory and find Optmyzr.
- Click Connect.
- Sign in to your Optmyzr account and approve access.
Claude will now have access to Optmyzr MCP functions.
If you’d rather set it up manually, you can add it as a custom connector instead:
Open Claude Desktop and go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Enter a name (and an optional description), then paste in the server URL:
https://tools.optmyzr.com/OptmyzrMcpClick Add, then Connect, sign in to your Optmyzr account, and approve access.
On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, only an admin or owner can add the connector for the organization. Once it’s added, everyone else can connect and enable it from their own settings. (See Anthropic’s guide to custom connectors for more)
ChatGPT
Optmyzr is now live on OpenAI’s Plugin Directory, so this is a lot simpler than it used to be:
- Open ChatGPT and go to Plugins.
- Find Optmyzr and click Install.
- Sign in with your Optmyzr login and approve access.
That’s it, no server URL, no manual configuration.
This also replaces the developer-mode setup ChatGPT used to require, which was the source of most of the setup friction people ran into.
Once connected on either platform, you can start asking it questions.
Prompts to try with Optmyzr MCP
After connecting the MCP, paste one of these in. Swap in a real account ID where noted.
- “Run a month-over-month audit on account [ID] via Optmyzr. Pull spend, conversions, ROAS, and search impression share for the last four months, flag what’s trending the wrong way, and give me a verdict on the one thing to fix first.”
- “Pull all optimization recommendations for account [ID], group them by category, and hand me a prioritized to-do list with a direct link to review each fix in Optmyzr.”
- “Using everything you know about how we run accounts, look at the last 90 days for account [ID] and tell me where we’re drifting from our own standards.”
- “Compare these five accounts over the last four months, rank them by which needs attention most urgently, and tell me what the numbers actually mean.”
- “Check which competitor domains are bidding on the same keywords as account [ID] and where our overlap has grown since last period.”
- “Based on the biggest problem you find in account [ID], build a Rule Engine strategy that addresses it and stage it for my review.”

Is it safe? Nothing touches your accounts without you
Two things keep this safe: what your AI can reach, and what it’s allowed to do.
It can only reach your own accounts. A client has to sign in before it sees anything, and even then it’s limited to the ad accounts already connected to Optmyzr, nothing beyond them. Your data and your context never go to Optmyzr’s own AI. They go to the assistant you chose to connect, under that provider’s terms, so connect one whose data terms you’re comfortable with.
And it can’t change anything on its own:
- Reading is open: It pulls performance data and Optmyzr’s analysis and reasons over all of it.
- Acting is staged: New keywords, alerts, and optimization changes come back as a preview you approve, never a change that’s already live.
- Applying is yours: A change goes live only when you click Apply in Optmyzr, not when the assistant decides to. Before any account is touched, you see what it wants to access and can allow or deny it.
Run your Google Ads through the AI you built with Optmyzr
If you haven’t built your own AI setup, Optmyzr Sidekick inside the product is the simpler place to start. This is for teams who’ve already put in the work: a house style baked into a Custom GPT, a Claude Project that knows the business better than any onboarding doc. Keep the assistant you built. Optmyzr gives it the data and the guardrails to act on real accounts instead of just talking about them.
