Most PPC tools are built to display data. Very few are built to help you figure out what to do with that data.
That gap is where a lot of time gets lost. Here’s how it usually unfolds. You pull a report, spot something that looks off, then spend the next 20 minutes opening other tabs, cross-referencing campaigns, re-reading a help article you’ve already read twice. By the time you know what to do, half the morning is gone.
Optmyzr Sidekick is built to close that gap. It sits inside the platform, understands which tool you’re looking at, and can answer questions, surface insights, generate visualizations, and help you take action without sending you somewhere else. One conversation, wherever you are in Optmyzr.
This post walks through what Sidekick does, how it works, and when it actually makes your day easier.
What is Sidekick?
Optmyzr Sidekick is your built-in AI PPC assistant designed to help you work smarter inside the platform. It combines generative AI with Optmyzr’s own machine learning and optimization logic to help you understand performance, explore data, uncover optimization opportunities, and take action across workflows.
Whether you’re reviewing reports or planning your next set of optimizations, Sidekick explains how tools work, surfaces relevant insights, and helps you act, without ever making you leave the page you’re on.

So, what’s new in Sidekick?
The latest version of Sidekick expands it from an in-tool assistant into a more complete AI workspace inside Optmyzr. It combines analysis, guidance, optimization opportunities, and in-chat workflows into a more connected experience that helps PPC teams explore data, act faster, and stay in flow across tools.
Here’s what’s new:
1. A new full-screen Sidekick experience
You can expand Sidekick into a full-screen view, giving you a dedicated space to analyze, explore, and act on PPC data using natural language. This experience makes it easier to ask detailed, multi-part questions, follow up naturally, and work through complex workflows without switching between tools.
In full-screen mode, Sidekick goes beyond quick assistance. It can help you analyze performance in more depth, generate visualizations, build optimization strategies using the Rule Engine, review alerts, and continue longer conversations without losing the thread. It also gives you more room to explore complex questions that would be harder to work through in a smaller in-tool panel.
The Rule Engine is Optmyzr’s automation builder. It lets you set up custom conditions that trigger bid changes, budget adjustments, keyword actions, and more across your accounts. Sidekick works alongside it, so when a strategy surfaces suggestions for campaigns or keywords that need attention, you can ask follow-up questions about those recommendations without leaving the page.
For example, if a strategy surfaces suggestions for campaigns or keywords that may need attention, users can ask Sidekick follow-up questions about those recommendations without leaving the page .
2. Deeper insights with visual and contextual analysis
Sidekick can generate a wider range of visualizations and insights to help you understand performance more quickly across multiple advertising platforms. In addition to Google Ads and other supported networks, Sidekick supports Yahoo Japan accounts, allowing advertisers to pull PPC reports and get insights directly within Sidekick
Instead of just summarizing data in text, it can turn your questions into visual views that make trends, comparisons, and changes easier to spot
You can also ask Sidekick to filter visualizations by campaign type, making it easier to focus on the slice of performance that matters for the question you’re trying to answer. Based on the visualization list you shared, this can include things like performance trends over time, comparisons between periods, breakdowns by device or audience, and other reporting-style views that help turn raw performance data into something easier to interpret.
Beyond account-level reporting, Sidekick can surface competitor insights, highlight keyword gaps, and help you understand industry trends or benchmarks that may be influencing your results.
Sidekick can pull your search term data directly into the conversation, so you can see how people are actually finding your ads without you jumping back into the ad platform. You can ask Sidekick to identify high-performing search terms, uncover negative keyword opportunities, and generate positive or negative keyword suggestions as part of your analysis workflow.
It can also bring relevant Express Optimization Suggestions into the conversation, helping users identify pending optimization opportunities and connect recommendations more naturally to their ongoing analysis. Together, this makes it easier to connect what’s happening in your account to the broader strategic context behind performance changes.
3. Available across more tools, pages, and devices
Sidekick is easier to access throughout Optmyzr.
You’ll still find it across major account-specific tools, where it can provide quick answers, walkthroughs, and contextual guidance without forcing you to leave the page. But Sidekick is no longer limited to those account-level views alone.
Users can access a mini version of Sidekick on the All Portfolio Dashboard, All Account Dashboard, and Alerts Management pages, making it easier to continue conversations and explore insights across broader account and portfolio workflows. On these pages, Sidekick can answer many questions even before an account is selected, and if a query requires account-specific context, it can recognize that and prompt the user to choose the right account.
That flexibility extends beyond the desktop experience as well. Sidekick supports a responsive mobile experience, allowing users to access its features directly from a mobile browser while away from their desk.
4. Unified chat history and seamless account switching
As you move between tools within the same account, your Sidekick conversation stays connected, so you don’t need to restart your chat or repeat your question every time your workflow shifts. That continuity makes it easier to carry the same thread of analysis from one tool to another.
In the full-screen experience, Sidekick also supports account context switching mid-conversation, which makes it easier to compare performance, explore trends, or work through questions across multiple accounts without starting from scratch each time.
5. Built-in walkthroughs
If you’re using a tool for the first time, or just want a refresher, you can ask Sidekick something like “Walk me through this tool.” It can guide you step by step inside the interface, helping you learn by doing instead of stopping to search through documentation.
This makes Sidekick especially useful for onboarding, self-serve learning, and getting comfortable with more advanced workflows without needing outside help.
6. Contextual guidance
Sidekick understands which part of Optmyzr you’re using and adjusts its responses accordingly. If you’re reviewing a report, it can summarize key trends. If you’re in Budget Pacing, it can help explain spend patterns and pacing. And as you move through different workflows, Sidekick can surface relevant recommendations, alerts, and optimization opportunities directly within the conversation.
That means the guidance feels more useful and less generic, because it’s shaped by the page, tool, and workflow you’re already working in.
7. Save prompts and personalize Sidekick with AI Profile
Sidekick makes it easier to reuse what works. You can save custom prompts either while creating them in the Explore More Prompts pop-up or by using the Save option on a prompt you’ve already sent in chat. Saved prompts are organized into two sections: My Prompts for your personal use, and Team Prompts for prompts shared across your organization.
Sidekick also supports AI Profile, which helps it respond in a way that is more specific to your business and workflow.
Users can define organization-level context like brand identity and voice, user-level context like background and preferences, and account-level context like goals and trends.
Together, these profiles help Sidekick tailor recommendations and responses more meaningfully instead of relying on one-size-fits-all guidance.
8. Perform actions directly through chat
Sidekick is no longer just there to answer questions. In several tools, it can help you take action directly from chat, making it easier to move from insight to execution without breaking your workflow.
You can use Sidekick to work across multiple workflows directly from chat.
That includes managing portfolios and sorting accounts in the All Accounts Dashboard, fetching performance data and applying filters in the Account Dashboard, updating monthly budget targets in the Budget Dashboard, asking questions about budget pacing and reallocation opportunities through the Reallocate and Optimize Budgets tool, working with spend projections, and managing keyword suggestions in Keyword Lasso.
Sidekick can also help manage Portfolio Alerts directly within the conversation.
Users can fetch triggered or configured alerts, create simpler alerts in chat, and ask broader health-check questions like “Is anything wrong with my portfolio?” to surface relevant alerts in context. More advanced alert configurations are still routed to the Alerts Management page
How can Sidekick help you?
Sidekick isn’t just there to answer questions. It’s designed to make your day-to-day work in Optmyzr faster and smoother.
Here are a few ways Sidekick can make a difference in how you work:
1. Get oriented quickly in any tool
Instead of digging through help docs, you can open Sidekick right inside a tool and ask what it does or how to use it. It’s especially helpful for onboarding new users or teammates.
2. Keep your workflow connected across tools
A typical workflow might move from Budget Pacing to Rule Engine to Reporting. With Sidekick staying open, you don’t lose your place or your conversation as you switch tools. In the full-screen experience, you can even switch account context mid-conversation, making it easier to manage multiple accounts from one continuous chat flow.
3. Understand performance changes and act faster
When performance shifts, Sidekick can help you do more than summarize what changed. It can turn your questions into reporting-style visualizations that make trends, comparisons, and breakdowns easier to understand at a glance. That makes it faster to move from “something changed” to “here’s what stands out.”
Whether you want a quick report summary, a trend view, or a more focused look at a specific slice of performance, Sidekick gives you a faster starting point before you dig deeper into the underlying cause.
Sidekick can also surface competitor insights, keyword gaps, industry trends, and optimization opportunities alongside these visual summaries, helping users connect what changed to the broader context behind performance shifts.
4. Reuse prompts that work best
If your team has prompts that consistently lead to useful analysis or clearer recommendations, you no longer have to recreate them each time. With My Prompts and Team Prompts, Sidekick makes it easier to save what works, reuse it later, and share useful prompt workflows across the organization.
5. Turn insights into next steps
Sidekick can still suggest what to look at next or which Optmyzr tools are most relevant for a problem. But, in several workflows, it can also help you act directly from chat, whether that means adjusting budgets, applying filters, working with keywords, or managing account views. That shortens the distance between insight and execution.
Whether users are reviewing recommendations, managing alerts, adjusting budgets, or refining keyword workflows, Sidekick helps reduce the gap between identifying an issue and acting on it.
